It all started when...

It all started in Hong Kong when Jack, working in a job he didn't enjoy living in a room effectively the size of a coffin he began to think of those precious times back in Ghana and back to those beautiful fabrics that so inspired him and, the amount of attention and praise he got for his new, quirky backpack.

"You can fail at what you hate so you might as well fail at what you love"

Jim Carrey

It was at this moment that he decided to commit and cash in on his dreams, no matter the consequences. "I used the entirety of my student loan to buy 90 bags from local tailors over in Ghana and I shipped them over to Hong Kong. It was expensive, not well thought through but I just KEPT GOING".  The bags were delivered to a friend of Jack's - Soraya. Jack planned to got to a christmas fair in Hong Kong and had expected to sell pleny of the 90 he had bought. In total Jack sold 4 bags, breaking even but not the run-away success he initally planned.

It took time but day after day Jack shared this message with others and at one particular fair was dragging people in through the door in order to tell people about his mission. "On the days that I didn't have meetings I took a suitcase full of bags and flyers down to the local universitys and just set up and told my story to EVERY single person that walked past". After time Jack began to sell more and more bags and was even picked up by news journalist Alessandro Meccheri that studied at Hong Kong University.

Partnership with Ethical apparel Africa

Jack then managed to make enough money to go back to Ghana, where he met Ethical Apparel Africa. He found with the first set of backpacks that they were all so different and that quality wasn't consistent throughout. After several meetings with EAA we have redesigned the backpacks for superior quality.

Each backpack only £55

a first for Johnny and a first for Ghana.

Whilst Jack spent his second time in Ghana he met a tailor called Johnny and they embarked on a special mission to create and design some of the first baseball caps in Ghana. With no prior knowledge Johnny had to draw upon his many years as a designer and a tailor to construct the cap. The fresh eyes we took to our design enabled us to curate a lightweight, more comfortable cap with alternative touches.

This is a video about our values and Johnny's everyone in the video (minus the bags) were wearing clothes that Johnny made!

Each cap is only £20

The Tee's are assembled in Ghana by a local factory Cadling's that adheres to ethical guidelines and continual improvement strategy operated by Ethical Apparel Africa. The Tee's are sourced from the local market due to the high cost of importing Tee's and fabrics into Ghana.  The Tee's come in Black, White and Grey in a variety of sizes.
